SAINTE-ANNE 14°25.6’N - 60°53.2’W

Protected by the southeastern peninsula of Martinique, Sainte- Anne is one of the largest and most popular anchorages on the island. In high season (November through March), near 400 yachts moor in the bay, from Pointe Marin to Anse Caritan. Since 2017, safety work on the water area have started and are ongoing, with the deployment of marks up to Caritan and access channels to the bathing area. Mooring is allowed at a distance of no less than 300 meters - marked by yellow buoys – to preserve swimming security and marine environment around Saint-Anne. The marine center of Martinique offers everything for yachts and many professional services as well. Cul-de-Sac du Marin is a large protected bay with a modern marina including a new compound, moorings, haul-out facilities and hurricane holes (Petit Versailles and Trou des Cyclones) on the eastern side of the bay. In 2018, the marina added around 50 new moorings for rental (between the marina and beacon 7) in order to better organize the mooring area. Since July 2018, new anchoring regulations are in effect in the hurricane holes. Areas where yachts used to anchor are now forbidden for anchoring, except during hurricane warning.
The town of Le Marin is rich in history and was of significant historical importance during the turbulent years of war with the English, and later as a sugar production center. Today, the marine industry is driving continued development.
